Installation Method for Automotive Air Conditioning Electromagnetic Clutch

1.Flange mounting: The flange is fixed to the mounting plate, and the rotor is mounted on the transmission shaft.

2.Bearing-type mounting: The stator and rotor are integrated as a single unit; simply fix the bearing onto the transmission shaft.

In addition, the following precautions shall be observed during installation:

The dry electromagnetic clutch must be operated in an environment completely free of moisture, oil and other contaminants. If moisture, oil or other substances contaminate the friction surfaces, the friction torque will drop significantly and clutch responsiveness will deteriorate. To avoid such issues during operation, a protective cover must be fitted.

A protective housing shall be used when the clutch is deployed in heavily dusty environments.

For the long shaft used to mount the clutch, dimensions conforming to JIS0401 H6 or JS6 shall be adopted.

Taking thermal expansion and other factors into consideration, the axial thrust of the mounting shaft shall be controlled below 0.2 mm.

The bracket shall be lightweight; do not subject the clutch bearing to excessive load.

For assembly screws, anti-loosening treatment such as spring washers or thread-locking adhesives shall be applied.
